Today was extremely rough indeed! For example: Your only baby girl going through a surgery, yes "only" tubes, but still as rough as her first surgery and IT was what you call "major". Dealing with her crying for over 30 minutes in recovery broke my heart today. And not to mention I was accompanied by my ex husband, can you say awkward? Speaking of awkward, my mother-in-law was there too, awesome! Thank goodness for my sis and mom!
I did get to see Sloan on "happy juice" HAHAHA! She was buzzing, in total slooow motion! I don't know why that was so funny to me..it just is. Probably because I see children on "happy air" all day, every day and know it is completely safe and necessary for treatment. The afternoon was up and down...her mood was too. She went in and out of moody, then happy spurts.
I was alone most of the afternoon with her, oh yeah until my "roommate" came in just as I was putting her down for the night very loud unloading groceries! Geez, can't wait until electricity is hooked up to MY new place!
Hopefully tomorrow is better, then there is the weekend. Ahh.. I want to be tied somewhere between a Frenchman and a Subway! ;)
one of the coolest chick I know. I'll let it speak for itself:
"my soap box squashed.
Current mood:
adventurous
so, while we're all over here in america bitchin about the price of gasoline, maybe one should notice that we pay WAY less for gas than any other country (in Europe it's like 10 bucks a gallon). we also pay less in taxes than any other westernized nation. and taxes, my friend, are how a country gets it's revenue. and we wonder why we don't have socialized medicine, or better public transportation.
i am ignorant when it comes to what our country is doing, how it's working, what our focus is. especially in relation to the rest of the world. i think it's safe to say most of us are pretty clueless, yet we form opinions about shit that we have no idea about.that stops now for me. i am going to learn. i am going to care. i want my vote to count.
so, while i am not ok with war, or excessive government control, i do want to apologize. to America. i am sorry i was talking out of my ass. yes, maybe i do want to become an ex-pat living off the land in Costa Rica, teaching English and massaging clients on the beach, but I do have love for my country. I want to thank you, United States gov't, for Pell Grants, and the availability of Student Loans, because I don't expect something for nothing; and for food stamps after Katrina, because if I lost everything due to a natural disaster in another country, I'd just be shit outta luck (and hungry). I want to thank you for paying for the births of both of my children, and I'd also like to thank you for never actually making me owe taxes in April.
Warrior men; sexy, free-thinking liberals founded this country. It was almost like a hippie commune of sorts; with ideals like equality, liberty, and happiness as the goals of it's inhabitants. You had inventors, marijuana smokers, mixed race lovers (pretty taboo for the day), and philosophists all coming together to REVOLT against the monarchy and create their own way of doing things.
I think that's HOT. my type of party.
so maybe the colonies were a little prudish at first. they were founded by the English, ya know.
but
look at NOLA. such a yummy mixture of French, Spanish and African
culture. Even after the Louisiana Purchase, it was years until the
"Colonists" from the Northeast actually started trying to run the show
down here.
so, I'm gonna shut up about the state of our union. cuz I've never lived in another country, and after reading about the democratic republic of congo, it could be much worse. you could have sorcerors shrivelling your penis."

And she's pretty sexy too! ;)
For those for you old enough, it was made popular by Michael Jackson and reintroduced by Rihanna, but what does it mean?? This is a question I asked myself for many years now. lol No, Johnny, it is not Spanish and no it is not French, Ashley. I am very curious so I looked it up on the internet, and of course everything you read on the INTERNET is true, right? Right? lol Anyhow here is what I found:
1. "It is a chant in the style of songs in Cameroon, where the
"words" are used for the sound effect, not a particular meaning. (from
Rolling Stone)"
2. And well there's this.
3. Also, " mama say sucks say mama piss thats what it means in Spanish" Oookkk, well, as least someone else thinks it's Spanish. lol
I suppose this will continue to baffle the mind. :)
I feel as though I can't write what I want when I want on MY own blog because immature people feel the need to post nasty comments! This is my freaking space, NOT your space, DAMN!! (sorry, had to get that out!) But it really sucks because I have been inspired to write lately. Sad, really. I will be driven to insanity like the Marquis in one of my favorite movies, Quills! I highly recommend it if you enjoy period movies and a little wickedly provocative wit!
Actually I have been doing some writing the good old fashion way, yes, pen and paper! :) I also picked up my art pad and pencil for the first time in a long while. That felt nice, too.
I am setting goals and reaching them, although I have a loong way to go.
I have been going "out" quite a lot lately. Meeting new people and running into old friends from wayy back. So on the nights when Sloan is with her Dad, while I do miss her, I am taking full advantage of my free time.
I am loving my new car and would really like a beer. Oh yes, and for those who celebrate, Happy 420!
Peace!
